This tool allows for historical analyses of market index performance up to a defined point in time. Historical analyses can be for
month-to-date (up to a certain day in any given month),
quarter-to-date (up to a certain date in any given quarter),
year-to-date (up to a certain date in the year), and
decade-to-date (up to a certain date in the decade).
- Select a market index.
- Select the analysis: Month-to-Date, Quarter-to-Date, Year-to-Date, or Decade-to-Date
- Enter the start year. Note that for Decade-to-Date analysis, the start year must be the start of a decade (e.g., 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020, etc.).
- Enter the date up to which the analysis is performed. For Month-to-Date, analysis is done from the first of the month to the day of the month selected for all years from the start year to the year of the date selected. For Quarter-to-Date, analysis is done from the first day of the quarter to the day of the month selected (in that quarter) for all years from the start year to the year of the date selected. For Year-to-Date, analysis is done from the first of the year to the month and day selected for all years from the start year to the year of the date selected. For Decade-to-Date, analysis is done from the start of the decade to the day of the month of the year selected for all decades from the start decade to the year of the date selected.
- Run the analysis. The chart will show market index performance based on the selected parameters.
