All-Time High Records in Market History

How to use this analysisHide instructions
This analysis allows you to find out when market indices exhibited all-time high records based on market index end-of-day close values. The analysis can be performed sequentially (i.e., chronologically) for a specified period of time within start and end date boundaries. The period of time can be day, week, month, quarter, year, or decade. In addition, the analysis can be performed to determine total all-time high records for any repeating time period. In this case, the time period can be weekdays (Monday through Friday), months of the year (January through December), quarters of the year (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4), or half-years (January to June and July to December). For each analysis, in addition to all-time high record counts, some additional details (end-of-day value and date) related to the all-time high records are shown.
  1. Select a market index.
  2. Select the analysis type: Totals or Sequential. This selection determines the options available for the time window.
  3. Select the time window: Options for obtaining total all-time record counts are Weekdays, Months, Quarters, and Half-Years. Options for obtaining sequential data are Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year, and Decade. Note that the analysis is only completed for time windows that are fully encapsulated within the start and end dates.
  4. Set the analysis start date.
  5. Set the analysis end date.
  6. Run the analysis. The chart will show all-time high records for the selected market index based on the specified parameters. In addition, detailed information for up to ten (10) all-time high records will be presented.
